Fascinating storytelling
Most of the story is set in the Sultan's multi-ethnic harem in the last days of the Ottoman Empire. It is fascinating, "lush" historical drama and story-telling, beautifully acted. The film also raises interesting questions about memory and the telling of stories. Because of the way the story is told, with flashbacks within flashbacks, I had to watch it more than once to figure out what was going on, but I enjoyed each viewing immensely. Also, if you watch Ozpetek's "Steam Bath" ("Hamam"), which is set in modern-day Istanbul, you will see an understated link to this story. (...)

No bad and you learn some history
I enjoyed the movie. It teaches you a little bit about the Ottoman Empire from the point of view of women assigned to the ruler's harem. At first, I didn't want to see it because I thought it was some sort of porn, but it isn't at all. It's a decent movie.

everything i expected!
This is exactly what I was expecting. The ottoman has a rich deep brown color. The top is soft enough to sit on and flat enough to put a serving tray. It has more storage inside than I ever expected and is lined with a soft fabric. The hinges are wonderful so no smashed fingers. I researched many ottomans and am so happy I purchased this one.

I have been searching for an ottoman and found this one to be excellent quality for a reasonable price, compared to others that I have seen in furniture stores for much more. The product came in perfect condition. It looks durable and the dimension is exactly as described. Beware of the color shade, however, it is not exactly brown as it appears in the picture. in fairness, the description does say dark brown. It is closer to black with brownish shade rather than the other way around.

nice ottoman
I've had mine about a week and so far so good. It was fairly easy to assemble and feels sturdy. I like the color. It's a nice size. I wish it had been packed without all the stryofoam packaging but other than that, I'm happy.
